If you're planning to go to all the effort to do a complete drivetrain swap, why not use a 292 engine? Those are still available for various types of farm equipment applications, either brand new or factory remanufactured. I believe they're still being built new in Mexico or Brazil for either Massey-Ferguson or John Deere.
