When I was a teenager working with my dad in construction I used to always drive the 1963 C60 dump truck while he and my brothers took the other pick-ups. I was kinda the "designated driver" of that rig. Anyhow, the truck was rated at 19,500 lbs. and I would routinely come out of the quarry loaded with 3/4" stone or washed gravel. I'd get on the scales and pull a weight of 28,000 lbs. and once with 31,400 lbs
. The 292 with 4 speed tranny and 2 speed rear is quite a powerful combination...although top speed on the highway empty was about 55 mph :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes: . That truck had been in the family since my grandfather paid cash for it (about $5500 at the time if I remember my dad correctly) and believe me we worked it hard and it never gave us a problem other than the usual maintenance items.
Glad to see you're putting her to good use already...I yearn for the day my C60 is finished and ready for some work!!!
