I had the same thought for my ‘52. A couple of years ago I flipped a 2008 Honda SI and used black carbon fiber vinyl wrap on a grille center bar, the outside mirrors and a few other pieces to accent the midnight black pearl paint. First time I ever did such a project and surprisingly they came out awesome. I watched a few YouTube videos on how to do it and used a heat gun to stretch and shrink the vinyl. I was surprised that it was not real difficult.

From what I’ve researched, the chrome comes out really good. Keep us updated if you do try!
