I'll bet he didn't know how to RPM match- - - -most Brownies ARE NOT synchronized- - - -gotta shift them like a crash box! Slip the box out of gear without disengaging the clutch, rev the engine up until you can slip it into the lower gear, and drive on. The Mack Tri-Plex I learned to drive big rigs on had a 5 X 3 setup, and I could go up and down all 15 gears without using the clutch. There's no need to double clutch unless you just enjoy exercising your left leg.
