| Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,746 | Disconnect the wire from the big starter terminal to the ammeter to isolate the rest of the electrical system from the starter and see if the battery keeps a charge overnight. Once that wire is disconnected, an ice pick type test light connected from the battery cable terminal to the ammeter wire SHOULD NOT light up unless some kind of accessory is turned on, or there's a short that's causing a constant battery drain.
