Yeah, the PPG store is just house paint. My FLAPS put in a paint room a few years ago, so I stopped there on my way home. They couldn’t find anything from the Ditzler PPG 10418, or the Dupont 664 numbers. She dug out a 1949 paint chip book, and found the Mfg code 522.
From the 522 code she determined the current Martin Senour/Sherwin Williams code for Windsor Blue is WA7881 from Napa auto.
I then looked closer at the document for Windor Blue from Paintref and noticed there is a Code column, and the codes for 1947 Fleet show 364, 522. There is also a 1983 Chrysler Fleet listed with a code of DT8027. I had been focusing on the Paint brand columns and overlooked that info. I got a quote for single stage Enamel including Reducer and Hardener. When I got home, I looked in my Jim Carter catalog and found their product to be quite a bit cheaper. I also saw the Interior paint for Panel truck listed as Medium Grey, so no Dark Bronze Metallic for me. This morning I checked the Jim Carter website, and see some of the other paints they sell are Commercial Performance Coatings. When I plug that name into a search, I find it’s a PPG product sold by O’reilly at a much lower price. I’ll go there and see if they can match the 522 Windsor Blue.
