Does anyone know what the modern equivalent to Windor Blue is?
I am thinking about painting my truck in era correct colors. I have been looking on-line at my options and found that the standard color was Forrester Green with about 8 other options available. My ’47 panel truck was Forrester Green from the factory, and repainted Silver with Red fenders. Henderson Distribution Company lettered on the sides, and a Mr. Peanut on the door. I am looking at a two-tone scheme with the body below the beltline a Windsor Blue, and above the beltline & fenders the Cream Medium. I would like to get samples of these paints and do a test spray to see how they look. I found the Cream Medium cross references to Martin Senour 113, and Sherwin Williams 7455 from the original Ditzler PPG 80189 and Dupont 95-530. I have not found the modern version of the Windor Blue originally PPG 10418 and Dupont 93-63225. Every color sample I have found on-line looks different so I’m not sure what the actual color is. I thought I would ask here before going to the paint store.
I found that Dupont sold the auto paint unit to Carlyle in 2012. I have also found Axalta(formerly Dupont)/Nason brand. That led me to Axalta — Duxone, They recommend using a spectrophotometer to get an exact match… I saw a PPG store on my way home from work yesterday, so today I looked up PPG on-line, no results from searching PPG10418, but Windsor Blue yielded this color: Windsor Way PPG1239-3 https://www.ppgpaints.com/color/color-families/blues/windsor-way
Here is an example of a possible original Windsor Blue: https://www.hemmings.com/stories/2011/08/20/hemmings-find-of-the-day-1953-chevrolet-3600
This site shows Windsor Blue as much darker:

I looked on the Tech Tips page here about Paint codes and see at the bottom a phone number listed for the PPG color library, I’ll give that a try too.
