I was actually reading a previous post of yours for measuring taper that way, I will do that tonight. If the taper is good, would my next step be to measure the bore and determine if the .030 pistons and new rings would work? I will need a bit more info on how to size the rings properly, but i may be overthinking this a bit.
Kevin, it must have produced a lot of blow by with that gap, unfortunately I have not seen this one run before, but if the oil on the underside of the engine and tranny was an indication I would say it did.
