In my case, my new Delphi 6 cylinder 250 fuel pump was WAY too much pressure for the stock one barrel Rochester and created massive leaking and flooding. Diaphragm and spring nowhere near factory spec and useless. Probably would work with something aftermarket. .maybe... but for sure not within spec. Fortunately I was advised to check pressure and then discovered the problem and had the old dirty pump. Cleaned it up and away we went.
