The shaft and shaft housing are quite a bit longer. The input and output line sizes and locations are different too - the M-45 replacement in/out are side by side, where as the GM 3701562 are almost stacked and at a bit of an angle from each other.

The one on the left is the GM 3701562, and the one on the right is the Melling M-45 replacement for the 235/261.
