When I'm out shopping for one of these 700R4s; what am I looking for? What years and model cars are most likely? I get the impression from searches that I may want to look at late 80's A Body (Chevelle, Cutlas, Skylark)cars. Is that right?
I don't know if I want to do any major towing but it would be nice to know I could drag 3 tons 300 miles if I wanted to. Is that possible with a 235/700R4 combination?
I've read through a number of searches. They're plenty useful. I was looking for the ideas to be pulled together here and to hear any new ideas.

If I did go with a 700R4, how would the torque converter lock be hooked up? Is it just a switch that I'd thow when at highway speeds? What if I forget to turn it off when I get off the highway, what damage am I going to do? You know I'll forget.
