From what I have read and seen around here, it is not terribly difficult to put a 302 into a Chevy AD truck. I have never done it and have no first hand experience with it, so hopefully one of the guys who have can pop in and walk you through it. I think it is a good upgrade and around here, the hardest part is finding the 302 in the first place.
Clark 5-speed (non-overdrive, I presume ...?) and the auxbox ... with a 261 ... hmmm, good thing you like shifting It will certainly keep you ... entertained.
