I drop rags wet with linseed or Tung oil into a coffee can full of water with a tight-fitting snap lid when I'm done working on the gunstocks I refinish. It's very seldom I'll re-use a piece of rag, but I want it thoroughly saturated with water before I toss it into the trash. Once it's soaking wet, it goes into a ziplock sandwich bag before I discard it.
