Do you have a VIN? The "Chevrolet Pickup Red Book" says it should be on the left door lock pillar for a '47. My '48's VIN plate in the the forward door frame on the left side.
The book also says the inside door handles for '48 and later were pulled up to open the door. I'm not sure about the '47 model. Also, rubber treads were used on the running boards starting in 1948.
Also, the parking brake was moved to the floor in 1948 according to the book (and my '48). I don't know where it was in 1947.
I've found this book useful but sometimes it skips over information.
