I'm curious about the rochester B casting warpage:
Could the warping be compensated by a more compliant gasket?
Would that eliminate the need to straighten them periodically?
I once used 1/8" nylon foam to make a gasket for a really warped intake on my toyota... maybe viton sheet or something would work for the carb?
I have thought about that too, but there are a lot of intricate cuts which would need to be made. If that could be sorted out, and the added thickness didn't mess up the relative depth of other internal parts, I'd say that it might be worth a shot in order to preserve a much needed correct carburetor.
