Thank you all. I was able to replace the retainer with all your help. I tried to just pull the rear axle back but I finally removed the u-bolts on the rear springs and pulled the axle back and replaced the retainer. I didn’t have the correct universal joint so I put the welded one back in. I am going to be the bad PO in about 20 years.
