FYI, I just cleaned up the mounting bolts for my steering gear. The 3 thru-bolt/nut combos were fine thread, and the one bolt that threaded into the steering gear itself was coarse thread.
They all had the same "R" mark on their heads that I found in various other places on the truck (including the fine thread hinge bolts), so I suspect they were original.
