Phak1 and I agree, a lot of old trucks have fine threads through out. The torque can be higher AND the fine thread will not shake loose as soon. Roads prior to 1956 were not paved etc. However we all know that with or without penetrant, watch out for knuckles and fingers. For a purest like me I always have my employees replace original. I do so on my favorite pet projects I work on. Ed
