I used a generic 12 circuit Painless harness in my 29 Model A pickup this past summer. It was a lotta work, but it was less than I had originally anticipated. Once I got the fuse box mounted and started running bundles of wires in the general direction that the were to go, it wasn't bad at all...just time consuming.
Now I have the whole thing converted to 12v, with halogen headlights and turn signals (and brake lights) in the stock housings. If I were to do it again, I'd go with another Painless kit, just cuz I'm familiar with their layout.
One thing I really liked was having each wire marked with its circuit number and name. That was a BIG help. The other thing I ended up doing was installing a ground bus near the main "Maxi-fuse" so that I didn't have to rely on frame or body grounds. I'm hoping this will pay off in the long run, especially when I use the "A" as a salt flats pit rat.
