My 52 panel, which i believed to be original when I tore it down, had wooden blocks with a type of rubber pad under them. The pads and wooden blocked were nailed in place on the body before the body was set down on the frame.....had to be!
I made new blocks and used a thick piece of old fire hose which had a couple layers of what looked like polyester with a rubber core. Them suckers will never rot.
