For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 1,317 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 1,317 | On my sm420 to T5 conversion behind a 56-235, I used the RCF-4201 disc and the stock pressure plate that was with the sm420. Make a visual check of your new pressure plate against your old and I think you'll find it identical, other than the diameter.
Just a suggestion, after modifying your input and throwout bearing carrier shaft I'd be sure to use an air cutoff tool and just slightly extend the splines. I didn't the first install and had drag on the clutch. You only need the have the pressure plate slide back another 1/8" to make it totally free from drag.
I put some pics in my website. You might want to check them out and save yourself so hassle. | | |
