For my '56 Burb, the upper hose from the Vortec engine is on the passenger side and the radiator outlet is on the driver's side
. This required an extra long hose also requiring two different diameter ends. I went to the local muffler shop and asked them to "flair" one end of a 1-1/2" O.D. pipe to 1-3/4" O.D. that's about 4" long. I inserted this "coupler" between two pre-formed hoses and secured it with hose clamps.
