At the moment, I have two SPDT switches mounted side-by-side for a kickdown switch. They were all I could find at the time; the original switches being nearly impossible to obtain. I have a Carter YF, so as Hotrod Lincoln said, some creative bracketing was required.

I ordered these DPDT switches from Amazon last month, but haven't had a chance to install them yet:

DPDT Roller Lever Switches

They are more robust than the current switches, and will be a better solution.

1961 Apache - " 'Mater Jr." (wrecker)
1965 Corvair Monza Convertible
1967 C20 "Ol' Blue" (hidden in a log cabin for 30 years)
1972 SuperBeetle Convertible - "Juliet"
1976 SuperBeetle Convertible - "Olaf"
1988 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce - "Romeo"
