Are you asking how to mount a mid 1960s 235 to a 1954 truck?
Is yes, here are some things to consider?
1. The 235 was used until 1962 (not quite mid 60s).
2. The 1954-'62 235 truck engine had the same motor mounts (I think).
3. The 1954-'62 235 car engines had motor mounts different from the truck's 235 (I think).
4. There should be no problem getting any 235 installed in a '54 truck - at worst, you might have to use a different bell housing and motor mounts. There should be no reason why a later 235 would necessitate a new/different cross member.
5. It is possible that you have a mid-'60s 6-cylinder (perhaps a 230 or 250).
It would be best to confirm the size/year of your engine before proceeding to "solve" the motor-mount and/or cross-member problem.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding your situation (we will see responses that will correct or clarify my comments).
