Being from the school for the mechanically challenged, I make a distinction between a turbocharger and a supercharger. I have always called a belt driven device a supercharger and an exhaust driven device a turbocharger.
These items are sort of like curb feelers, you can stick them on anything, even a old 235 Chevy six.
