Here is some information on the window frames. It is correct that windshield frames never came from GM in chrome or SS for the AD’s, it would be safe to assume it was for glare.
I assume the side door window moulding you're referring to is the interior door moulding not the exterior stainless steel bright metal reveal moulding.
The 47-54 Factory Assembly Manual calls the side door interior moulding, Garnish Moulding and the side door exterior moulding Reveal Moulding..
