i think the material Carl is referring to is stick on vinyl gravel guard found on ebay. another option is 3m 84906 paint protection film, this is clear and good option where your toe may kick the paint. it comes in 6" x 84" roll. MikeB uses a material for new floor protection found at floor shops, and just frequently replaces it. Pat
