I am new to this forum, but was wondering if this thread was still active. My '68 292 has a short dipstick tube (5 5/8 inch), and correspondingly short dipstick (14.25 inch). When I go thru all the numbers from 3B above mine is about a quarter inch different in the full level. My concern though is that after putting 6 quarts in I am reading about a half inch over full. Any thoughts?
