Hey Guys - The threads are crisp. Both ends of the new rod have a flat starting portion, and I could see how the pic makes it look like wiped threads. My original rod was damaged and has frozen ends, but I did grab a quick measurement of the old thread heights for a comparison. Bummer as its a nice rod... Steve
