My solution has always been to tie a t-shirt over the filter in my shop vac. Then it's as easy as shaking the thing out when it gets clogged.
Easy enough to throw the t-shirt in the wash after shaking it out, if it's getting
really dirty.
In the end, I save a
ton of money on shop vac filters.
