Thanks Jon. I'm somewhat afraid the flaws in the system might cause me a problem. I figured if I needed to replace the gear set anyway, I'd make the change. Now that I've had a chance to chill out a bit maybe I should put some miles on it. Perhaps ignorance is bliss, yeah I'll give er a whirl.
Seems like there should have been some numbers in the casting on the driver side. That link said they all had them. Mine doesn't. Ugh.
