The aftermarket A/C systems put a noticeable load on a 350 in my experience. I have to turn the idle up during the hot time of year to keep everything happy. Its kind of annoying putting up with the high idle when the A/C is off however. I need to come up with a way to be able to adjust the idle speed on the fly. I have a throttle cable installed which isn't hooked up to anything. I would like to have it set up so that it has a positive stop when I pull the knob for when the A/C is on, and be able to just push it back in to have it at the proper idle without the A/C on. Idiot proof, if you will.
This would work with a 216 as well. Not sure how high you would need to increase the RPM though.
