| | | | Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 149 Member | | Member Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 149 | I have a rear from a '76 Nova installed under my '49. I was amazed at how well it fit! The perches fit right into my orginal leaf springs. Now come the issue of shocks. Orginally I have the knee action shocks. The Nova rear has a bottem mounting plate to attach a shock, but I have nothing to attach it to my frame. I turned the Nova plates so the shock will mount on the inside of the frame, looks like tire clearance would be better. Any ideas on mounting the upper part of the shock to the frame?? The plate one the Nova are on oppasite sides of the axle. The shock mount one the Drivers side is on the rear side of the axle and the passanger side is on the front side of the axle. Should the shocks be at an angle reather then streight up and down?? What angle?? How do I measure for the right length of shock?? Thanks for your input!
