Of course I have never done this, but I, er, a man just keeps the VIN tag that you started with & have a title for, just think of it as replacing a fender. If you don't have the correct one I would remove it. The frame VIN on these trucks is stamped on topside of frame rail, usually driver's side. Mine was in two places, one ahead of front wheels, one under cab . Most folks these days don't know where to look, most all of these trucks are made from parts of several trucks after 40 years. *May not be legal in all areas, your results may vary,information here is solely for entertainment purposes,professional driver on closed course,etc etc.* Brian
