I don't think a lot of people are building $150,000 Truck street rods. I don't think they are selling like hot cakes. It's all hype put out by these sellers. We don't know how many they are selling unless they tell you. You don't get honest figures.
You can still buy a good donor cab and get all the dash, glass, mechanisms, pedals, seats, doors and etc. with it and get it shipped to you if needed.
These guys are just buying the same patch panels we can buy and building a "Jig". Which is no big deal for parts that "fit" together. A jig does no good if parts need tweaked. It's just a holding fixture with features that allow for movement to get a reasonable cab. A jig is what the factory had with USA parts. They were just slightly better than the Chinese parts. The allowable gaps and tolerance was big. How many buyers are there for these trucks when completed? A huge waste of money to buy a $8k-$12K cab. A few are built on consignment paid for by people playing baseball for $160 million.
I can buy a real nice truck for $8-$12K. A WHOLE running and driving nice truck. I can call it a street rod if I want to.
Lot's of vendors and "distributors"...........one "Peoples Old Truck Parts Factory".
