Was thumbing through a Truck Mag at the local Wally World recently and noticed an aftermarket company now offers a complete all metal cab for the TF and AD trucks. I knew these were available in the Chevy and Ford worlds....Camaro and Mustangs to be exact but not in our arena.
It virtually takes the charm and self satisfaction out taking 60+ year old sheet metal and making something out of it.
Pricey...but for those who have deep pockets...although it would very tempting if you were building a Barret Jackson or Ridler custom show truck.
These cabs must have tight tolerances and where did they acquire NEW stamping dies stateside?. I was always under the impression the original dies were long expired. Wasn't that always an issue...lack of factory correct crisp lines from worn out dies...with outsourced body panels we currently are purchasing we have to dolly them to death to fit.
I suppose if it were easy...everyone would be doing it.
