Yes, the '54-'62 (all 216/235/261) engines had the intake manifold rings (the pre-'54 the 216 rings were smaller diameter; maybe the pre-'54 235 were smaller diameter, too).
Many vendors sell them (Chevy Duty & Jim Carter, for examples).
I would put them back in to help align the manifold to the head.
