The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Engine Shop Intake port rings

Many years ago, I rebuilt a 235, and it had round steel rings between the intake manifold and the head, as a sort of "liner" and anti-leak design, I suppose.

My older 235, a '54, does not have them. Should it? I.e. did they get lost along the way? Should I retrofit them?
