that would prolly put it tooo far forward. the HEI could use a tiny bit more room, but I have seen'em used w/ the stock position - might have had firewall tweaked tho. if yer usin a block that can take the front mounts, why not use them? takes a bracket added on the front frame cross member
that looks like this - also note the pully is about the back edge of the cross member for positioning. I can measure when it's daylite if ya want.
