I actually just took a couple for someone else who asked. They are pulled tight against the cookie sheet fan shroud by the fan when the roadster is standing still and they definitely improved highway cooling.

It seem like the bean counters would like the mechanical fan because a simple stamped sheet metal fan would cost way less than 2 electric fans and all the stuff to control them. But what do we know? We're just grease under the nails gear heads.
