Clutch was acting funny on the '62 C10. It was bleeding down when I held the pedal down for any length of time. It seemed to get worse after an incident the week before when an idiot cut me off and I had to slam on the brakes and clutch hard to stop in time.

Since there was evidence of long term fluid leakage on the firewall, I ordered the new master cylinder and installed it on Saturday. When I went to bleed the line at the slave cylinder, I couldn't get the bleed valve loose, so I decided to pull it so I could have better access to break it free.

When I crawled under the truck to unbolt it, there was a bunch of fluid everywhere. OK, slave cylinder needs to be replaced as well. I pulled the slave and fluid poured out of the boot. Piston seals were toast. FLAPS couldn't get the new slave until the next day.

Got the new slave cylinder installed and still couldn't get the clutch adjusted the way I wanted it. I still had a large amount of travel before the clutch would even start to disengage.

Finally got it figured out on Monday. Turns out, when I stomped on the clutch pedal avoiding the idiot, the linkage slipped a little under the dash. I broke out the wrenches, loosened the clamp, and adjusted the pedal linkage.

It's all good now and the truck is running as a primary, daily driver vehicle again. That's a good thing since I have the motorcycle down for some much needed maintanence.
