The “built in switch” is actually a corded switch. You can link them end to end, link with cords, or use as a single light. Enough cords for each light if you want to have a switch for each light.
I use them over the workbench and tool boxes. I have some mounted along the wall for side lighting too. I am very happy with how easy they are to install.
