I got the bulbs, bypassed the ballasts and put the bulbs in place. Got light and no fire. Woo hoo!
I went for this change over to avoid the crappy ballast issue that I have had on a continuous basis. These bulbs are less expensive than new LED fixtures and less work to do the change over than to change out entire fixtures.
