Thanks for the info. I have a reprint of a 1946 Chevy truck owners manuel (do you have that one?) and it shows in a picture on page 11 that there is a return spring for the linkage connected to the frame. Does your pedal pop up good and strong? 'Cause I rebuilt mine and it's kinda weak. john.
