Don't waste those new lifters on a used cam. Either get a good core cam reground, or keep searching until you find a new cam with specs that suit your preference. Also, remember that the two most common engine building mistakes most people make is too much cam, and/or too much carburetor. A stovebolt engine just can't breathe well enough to take advantage of a radical cam, regardless of what the "seat of the pants" racers claim. None of them can offer any definite proof from dyno runs, no matter how loudly they protest.
