It sounds like you have '49 to '54 Chevy car brake drums on the front. That would suggest the spindles will take one of the commonly avaiable disk brake kits for a '47-'54 pickup.
But I'm just guessing...
Take it apart and measure the spindle diameter at the inner and outer bearing surfaces. If they are the same as a '47 - '54 the next question is are the backing plate holes in the same place as the '47 - '54. If they are, the disk kit should work.
