Texas plates in pairs come up on ebay regularly. Try pricing 1950 TEXAS TRUCK plates. I have just bought a pair of 50 truck plates at $350, got outbid several months ago at $400. Regular car plates without the TRUCK at the bottom are somewhat cheaper. Texas FARM TRUCK plates are even cheaper, but they can not be used according to DVM. I don't know whether the car plates can be used on a truck, but from reading the above regs it appears they might be. I have a pair of all 3 and intend to run the TEXAS TRUCK plates now. I did get lucky on my dad's 28 A. I only could find the rear, these plates for 3 years stated front and rear on them. They didn't ask to see the FRONT plate. I am running YOM plates on 67 and 69 corvette, 27 T, and have the FORMER MILITARY plate on a M923A2 5 ton truck. Good for 5 years and no inspection required.
