This topic usually results in opening the proverbial can of worms.
GM provided no engine paint code information (that has ever been posted here).
There is a lot of disagreement over the shade of gray or blue gray for various years of Chevrolet 216 and 235 engines.
Here is a list made by a VCCA member/expert.Some people think the shade of gray for low-pressure 216/235 was a darkish gray-blue, and high-pressure 235 truck (mechnaical lifter) engine color was a lighter gray (like a Ford engine gray).
The high-pressure, hydraulic lifter, automobile 235 engine was Blue Flame Blue (a light blue).
Good luck - use whatever shade of gray that you like.
