I would prefer to stay on PDT all year round.
When I was working, my company had offices all over BC. Two of our offices; Cranbrook and Dawson Creek were different than the rest of the province. I can't remembering exactly how. I think Cranbrook stayed on PST all year round and Dawson was on Mountain Time. (or the other way round). It was a PITA!
Edit: looked it up. They are both on Mountain Time, However, Dawson Creek does not go on DST, but Cranbrook does. So for part of the year, Dawson Creek matches Victoria's time. Cranbrook is always an hour earlier. :ohwell:
