Ok, this may sound stupid. When I did my kit, the brackets are not the same and can only go on the correct side. Once I figured that out, everything fit correctly. Try flipping the brackets, I never had to grind!
Are your brackets straight or slightly bent? Mine were bent. I sent you a PM.
